My name is Chad Wilson. I am the youngest of three sons. I was partially raised in western Michigan, but moved to Forest in central Virginia when I was young. I grew up going to Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Bedford, just a little ways to the west.
I graduated from Jefferson Forest High School in 2017, and attended Longwood University from then until 2021 when I received a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science. I was heavily involved with the Catholic Campus Ministry at Longwood and Hampden-Sydney College, where I served for three years on the leadership team. During one of these years, at the college Summit, I had my first real and intimate encounter with Jesus. It was during one of the talks that I began thinking about committing to ministry, though it would be years later before I began to discern a vocation to the priesthood.
After I graduated from college, I spent a good amount of time searching for a job, but nothing seemed to stick out to me. There wasn’t something there that my soul was yearning for. After talking with some friends and family, I ended up thinking that I was desiring something deeper. So, I contacted the Director for the Office of Vocations and started on what will become a productive period of prayer and study to become a priest, if that is in the Lord’s will and providence.
