Hello there! My name is Jonathan Kenney. I am originally from Fredericksburg and I grew up in Fluvanna County. Raised Catholic, I am the oldest of 7 children to my wonderful parents, Shaun and Melissa. I grew up homeschooled by my folks and graduated from Piedmont Virginia Community College as well as from the College of William and Mary with a bachelor’s in history. The Church has always been something special and important in my life, especially whilst attending William and Mary. What my family began and instilled in me, the Catholic Campus Ministry (CCM) there advanced and elevated, further teaching me what it truly means to be both Catholic and a man of the faith. I began discerning a vocation to the priesthood in the fall of 2021 and went on several retreats sponsored by the diocese to aid my discernment as I applied to seminary. Overall, I felt a calling from the Lord to “Come, follow Me,” and it was, quite simply, something far more real than any other aspiration I could have dreamed of or hoped for, and for that I am truly blessed and humbled.
