First Theology

Mount Saint Mary's Seminary
Franciscan University of Steubenville

I was born in Maryland, but grew up in Virginia Beach my whole life. After my first confession, at 7 years old, I told my mom that I wanted to be priest. I grew up playing sports my whole life and the two I enjoyed most were basketball and lacrosse. When I was 15 years old, I had a deep conversion back to the faith, after living far away from God for years. In this conversion, I heard God’s call to the priesthood, again, and I wanted to go to college seminary. I ultimately decided against this in favor of going to a four-year college, so I attended St. Vincent College in the fall of 2014 until the spring of 2015. Then, I transferred to Franciscan University of Steubenville in the fall of 2015. I graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology. I had hopes of becoming a college professor in Theology when I graduated, but the Lord had other plans. After brewing beer at a brewery and volunteering in a youth group, and, of course, a breakup, I finally decided to apply for seminary. It had been something I wanted to do in the depths of my heart but was always afraid. The experiences of college brought me to the point where I realized I needed to go. I was accepted on the feast of Saint Benedict and have been in for just over a year and look forward to the journey ahead.
